Here's the filter, set up and running.
The filter head attaches to the cannister with 4 large "EZ clips". They are very easy to open and close.
Three large media baskets are stacked inside the cannister along with a blue coarse sponge and white fine sponge.
The bottom basket is filled with ceramic rings (mechanical media) and topped with the blue coarse sponge. I put a used fine filter pad on top of the blue sponge.
The top 2 baskets are filled with scintered glass (biological media). I put bags of crushed coral and charcoal here when needed.
A new fine filter pad goes on top and then a grate to keep it in place.
The filter head is placed on top and the input and output hoses are attached with a simple push of the lever.
The flow indicator will show when the filter is dirty and flow is reduced.
The hoses are attached to the tank with a piece that allows access to the tubes without taking everything apart. The knob on top screws off.
The return is a long spray bar that can be positioned horizontally or vertically. I have mine horizontal, with the left side higher than the right to create surface agitation.
